just boarded the bus when this happened. >> sacha said story. the bus came to stop. that is the bus stop right there -- that is not the one where the shooting happened, that is a block away. the suspect shot multiple times, hitting not just the mother and killing her, but hitting his baby boy. >> it is ridiculous. it is ridiculous. sad. >> neighbors say what happened on this metro bus in at minnesota avenue was heartbreaking. -- before i know it, there was a baby that got shot. >> police say a woman was on the bus while holding her baby girl. in anthony street opened fire, killing the woman. >> why do you have to die because someone do not want to agree with an? >> police say the baby was also shot but was a conscious when

taken to the hospital. it happened at this bus stop on 18th streert and minnesoata avenue southeast. the bus driver drove away from the shooter and not stop until reaching 19th street. >> he tried to get us to safety as quickly as he could well notifying police to come. >> you can see where the bullets hit the glass door of the bus. neighbors say violence like this has got to stop. they know next time it could be their family. >> i have a daughter who catches the bus ride there were the young lady was standing. it is sad. >> it happens all the time in our neighborhood. >> the baby girl was taken to a children's hospital. police have not put out a condition, but there is good news the baby was conscious and alert when she was taken to the hospital. the suspect is still out there tonight and has not been caught. police asking if anybody around has any information that could help them, please call metropolitan police.

>> an ongoing story. thank you for that. music superstar jenni rivera is dead after her plane crashed earlier today in mexico. she did not survive -- the pilot left monterey, mexico and went missing two minutes into the flight. wreckage was found in northern mexico. six other people were on board -- rivera was a popular mexican singer and reality star. she had just signed a new deal with abc. >> turning to redskins -- a scare on the turf of fedex field involving robert crippen the third. >> despite that scare, they managed to win the battle of the beltway over the ravens. so much going on. >> such an incredible game. rg3 is the big question. we have seen him get her before,

a warrant had been listed for a different man, but police now believe that he is responsible. -- for the death of 14-year-old eliezer reyes. he was killed in a drive-by shooting last thursday. police already have one man in custody. a gruesome discovery by a jogger in laurel. a woman's body was found in the root -- woods off of route 1. police say it may be the body of a woman reported missing a few weeks ago. there are no signs of foul play. >> d.c. police of looking for a man who broke into a dorm room on a georgetown university campus. early this morning, students in kennedy hall found a man in his room -- the student was not hurt. two months ago a man broke into a off-campus room -- had to students inside. it does not appear the incidents are related. >> fires swept through a popular eatery today -- the bathroom of

johnny rocket's in northwest. found a man inside the bathroom -- he was unconscious. he was taken to a local hospital for treatment and the restaurant was closed for the rest of the day. >> 23 days until the so-called fiscal clef. earlier today, president obama and john maynard had private talks at the white house. it was their first -- president obama and john boehner had private talks at the white house. details were not made public. many are closely watching. among them -- she works at a capitol hill business that has a lot of high-powered customers including the house speaker. she says she's worried about the potential government cutbacks would end up happening after the fiscal cliff >> they are our main source of keeping the business opened. if that slows down any further we might end up closing up. >> she says she remains hopeful

today the eyes were on washington state, where same-sex couples made history. the first day they can legally marry since the state's gay marriage law took effect. 140 couples planned to get married in seattle alone today. last month washington, maine and maryland became the first states to approve same-sex marriage by popular vote. six other states and the district already have lost four same-sex marriage. it may sound hard to believe but we -- \ it will sta to feel

district and several counties until 9:00 tomorrow morning. visibility is diminishing. take a look at what we have -- you can see how it has decreased as we move through the past hour. lexington park, even less than that. the fog will live 10:00 tomorrow morning. -- will diminish by 9:00 or 10:00 tomorrow morning. temperatures in the 40's -- this is the cold front that will change all that. late tomorrow night into early tuesday morning, bringing on showers and a chance for a few thunderstorms. once this moves in temperatures on tuesday will fall into the 40's by afternoon. that will pretty much be it for the day. here is the travel advisory -- minneapolis, winter storm warning. check your flight before you head out tomorrow morning. doppler radar a few showers across southern maryland.

the cold front will push in from the west -- this moves on through, and then temperatures will take a dive. daytime highs tomorrow, 65 to 70 degrees. much different story as we move into tuesday and wednesday. high temperatures -- 52 on tuesday, by tuesday afternoon the temperature will feel more like the lower 40's. the wind chill factor, something we have not talked about in some time. >> a shock to the system. >> absolutely. people will be monitoring the next 48 hours to see how things turn out with rg3 no doubt peaky we shall see. redskins fans are not just watching -- they are keeping tabs on the giants. today all eyes were on rg3.
